Common questions

Who picks the cause?

You do. Any local cause that matters to you — a school booster, a food pantry, the GoFundMe down the street, your neighbor's youth team. No curated list, no approval queue.

Where does the money go?

From you to the cause directly. Rhappsody never holds, routes, or processes your pledge. We trust you to give what you've committed — that's the whole point.

Does the cause have to be a registered nonprofit?

No. Anything you call a local cause is a local cause. Tax treatment depends on the cause's status (a registered charity issues you a receipt; an informal cause won't), but the 10% off your subscription applies either way.

Is the 10% off everything, or just the subscription?

Subscription only. Pass-through costs — payment processing, AI credits, SMS packs — are billed at cost regardless of which path you choose. We can't discount what we don't keep.

What if I'm on a hobbyist or personal plan?

10% for Local is for Pro and Studio members — the small businesses we serve. Hobbyist and personal plans aren't eligible. If your work outgrows that tier, the program comes with the upgrade.

What does Rhappsody get out of this?

A different kind of marketing. We fund the 10% off in lieu of a traditional ad budget — the program is, in effect, our acquisition channel. We trust word-of-mouth from members to do the work paid ads usually do.

Do I need to send receipts or prove anything?

No. The program runs on goodwill. Once a year we'll email and ask if you're still giving — and optionally, if you'd like to update your cause. That's the only check.

Can I change my cause later?

Yes. Your cause persists year to year by default, and the annual check-in lets you redirect. Or step back to the standard plan with no penalty if your situation changes.
